Over 30 years and still frying the best fish around

We got to the restaurant an hour before they opened so we couldn’t be seated first. We were second in line. The waitress took our order And We waited an hour and asked why we haven’t gotten our food. We were told the fish was done but the other food like the chicken and shrimp was not so we waited thirty more minutes and asked again. This time a man from the back told us our food wasn’t ready because we were the last to sit down. We told him we were the second group to walk though the door and he became very rude and said what do you want to do? We told him we didn’t want anything. He Never apologized for us waiting an hour and half. We ended up waiting two and half hours and got treated like trash.

Probably my favorite place to eat Catfish! Great food reasonable prices and friendly staff. But, if you have a group, make reservations, as they get busy quickly.

I grew up eating here and I crave to get back. I try to make my visits to Thomaston on a Thursday - Sunday just to make sure I can eat at Riverbend. Best catfish and slaw ever!

Good food. Great portion size. Great environment. There can be a wait. Reservations is your best bet.

Great Catfish. Best I've had in a long time. All you can eat. This place is always busy on the weekend when they open. Standing room only. Great views of the Flint River. Private party rooms available. Give them a try.

The food was good always have been good !! The wait to be seated and served system is horrible they have to many large number groups booking reservations going on at the same time with the regular customers and Customs that are in between the time that is slotted from open to close you're only open for 5 and 1/2 hours from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekends I don't think it's fair to the customer to spend that type of money and time waiting 2 hours and a half to me serve please figure out another way to satisfy your customers

The fish were small and cooked overdone. Hard. Oysters had a strong taste. Scrimp good french fries good, slaw good. Fish to hard and small. This was on March 14, 2020.

Worth the wait. Arrived at 5:15 on a Saturday, seated at 6:45 (party of 3). Catfish was excellent. We will be back.

Had the seafood platter. Everything was overcooked and taste like it was cooked in the same oil. Waitress was friendly. Definitely not worth the drive.

Food was good and hot sweet tea was good a little slow on service one hour to get food from time of order a great place to eat if you have a lot of time

Make sure you get reservations for 5:00pm on Friday and Saturday. We had a long wait even with 6:00 reservations. The server we had work her rear off!

This was our first time trying it and will definitely be back. We all had catfish which was delicious. The portion sizes of everything were large and even the 3 piece catfish was enough for a big eater. The fries were homemade and delicious, the baked potatoes were cooked perfectly and light and almost creamy. A pitcher of tea was left on the table for your convenience. Plenty of butter, and salad dressing came with your order as well as a good size pickle platter with sweet & dill pickles, lemon, onions and tartar sauce. I'm very particular about hush puppies and don't usually like them anywhere we've been but these were very good. All 4 of us liked them. Well worth the drive. We got there when they opened and there were people waiting when we left 45 minutes to a hour later.

Went there with my family for the first time and loved it. Great atmosphere, great service, and if you sit by the windows you have a wonderful view of the river...

If you like a good ole fish fry this is your place. Generous serving of catfish, hush puppies, french fries, coleslaw, etc. Place usually has a line waiting to get in as soon as they open the door.Great service too.

This place was PACKED. We had okay service, she had a LARGE party of 30 or more to serve too. The food was nothing special and the popcorn shrimp was so small. Honestly, we all felt Captain D's tastes better. Not a lot of food for the price either.

I was very disappointed!! The wait was long but that was not the problem. I do not mind waiting if the food is worth it. This was not the case. The food was so greasy we could not eat it. The fries were dripping with grease. The kids chicken plate had 2 small pieces of chicken under a mountain of greasy fries. Like I said we all were very disappointed with our food. We will not be going back.

We had a GREAT EXPERIENCE here. Great service and the all you can eat catfish hit the spot! I will be back!
